Say goodbye to the biohazard for good with Ryno’s Group. The total duration of a mould removal project varies widely, depending on the affected surface area and how deeply the mould has penetrated structural materials.
Small, Contained Infestations (A Few Hours to 2 Days): Don’t worry. The fungi won’t stand a chance against Ryno’s Group at this scale. Minor issues (such as a small patch of mould around a window frame, under a kitchen sink, or a localised bathroom ceiling area) can often be treated, cleaned, and completed within a few hours to two days. Expect the problem gone for good.
Medium to Large Residential Jobs (2 to 5 Days): A bigger problem means a bigger strategy. If mould has spread across an entire room, throughout a multi-room environment, or throughout a basement, the timeline will be extended. This requires a more intensive setup and localised air filtration and Ryno’s mould experts will be as thorough as the mould in getting in all the difficult places.
Severe or Complex Infestations (1 to 2+ Weeks): Whole-floor contamination, commercial buildings, multi-storey family homes, or severe structural flooding require staged work. You won’t find Ryno’s cutting corners on these big bad problems… Or any scale of problem for that matter. These projects frequently take a week or longer due to the massive volume of materials that must be handled without cross-contaminating the rest of the property.
The Step-by-Step Remediation Process
The Ryno’s professional mould remediation follows a strict, systematic process. Shortcuts compromise air quality, which is why technicians move through these distinct phases:
Phase 1: Inspection & Scope Assessment (Day 1)
Expect Ryno’s mould experts to get in and have a good look. We won’t be touching anything until we’ve done a thorough property inspection. We use specialised equipment including moisture meters, thermal cameras, and air-quality tools to trace the underlying source of dampness and map the true extent of the visible and hidden contamination. In some cases, an independent third-party mould test is ordered to establish an unbiased baseline for the project.
Phase 2: Containment & Setup (Day 1–2)
Mould spores can easily become airborne and multiply, festering your air, your lungs, your furniture, your walls, your… everything. We hate to break it to you, but you can’t see the dangerous little spores, so we assume they’re everywhere and clean it like it’s the worst case scenario. We set up physical barriers to cordon off dangerous areas. We use heavy plastic sheeting and negative pressure zones. We isolate the affected rooms to prevent dangerous spores from escaping into non-contaminated areas or travelling through the building's HVAC system. And for extra coverage, we deploy dehumidifiers and specialised HEPA-filter air scrubbers to capture airborne microscopic spores down to 0.3 microns. That’s thorough!
Phase 3: Controlled Demolition & Removal (Day 2–3)
Sometimes, it takes a water disaster to start a fungi breeding ground. Even a burst pipe can be your enemy in this hazardous battle. Think of things that have been damaged from water recently (soaked carpets, insulation, wallpaper, and severely rotted plasterboard/drywall). These porous or heavily waterlogged materials get carefully cut out, placed into sealed bags inside the containment zone, and carried out of the property. We’re taking everything that could be compromised.
Phase 4: Cleaning, Disinfecting, & Fogging (Day 3–4)
Once structural clearing is complete, our Ryno’s mould experts scrub all remaining hard surfaces with industrial-grade cleaning agents, such as biocides. Unlike standard household cleaners that only treat the surface layer, professional treatments break down the fungi and neutralise bacteria. We’re fighting this combat at the molecular level. Advanced processes may also utilise specialised fogging technology to emit a fine mist that captures and eliminates lingering airborne spores throughout the space.
